Security launches services in the Middle East and South Asia
Special acrylic adhesive system
strengthens ordinary glass by up to 400 per cent, protecting consumers
from injuries resulting from accidents and shattered glass.
Dubai, 22nd July 2003:
Xtreme Defence Security Inc., (XDS) the leading edge security
products company, established in the British Virgin Islands, has
launched its operations in the Middle East and South Asia. The
products are manufactured by various US based manufacturers and
they will be exclusively marketed and distributed by XDS in the
region. The marketing and distribution would be implemented through
the Dubai office of XDS based at Dubai Airport Free Zone.
One of the key products among
the portfolio of security products is a remarkably strong film
and acrylic adhesive system that when applied to ordinary glass
turns it into a super strength protective shield. The patented
acrylic adhesive forms a chemical bond with the glass. This process
strengthens the ordinary glass by up to 400 per cent, protecting
consumers from injuries resulting from accidents or shattered
glass. This state-of-the-art system also reduces the potential
of smash and grab burglaries, forced entry, theft and absorbs
more than 98 per cent of the sun's ultraviolet rays.
Speaking at a press conference
Mr. Ranjan Mazumdar, Director, XDS said, "We are delighted
to launch our services in the region and we look forward to providing
the customers with a cost effective protective solution. Most
window breakage occurs as a result of an accident, burglary, terrorism
or bad weather and shattered pieces of glass are always a potential
danger to property and individuals.
The limitation of today's unenhanced
glass is that the glass breaks. Glass is everywhere but it is
the weakest link to the safety of any building or vehicle in terms
of protecting lives and property. The primary function of this
product is to strengthen the glass first, then keep the glass
intact in its frame, if broken. The likelihood of injury to person
and property is greater in the course of a normal glass breakage
than this treated glass. It is a proven fact that the XDS System
can reduce damage and injury by up to 80 per cent," said
Mr. Khurrum Hamirani, Director, XDS.
Another product range from XDS is the Xtreme Undirectional Protection
System (XUPS). This glass / plastic Armour System has the unique
quality of protecting against hostile fire; while allowing return
fire safely from inside a car, building or other structures.
The bullet resistant glass, unidirectional
glass and opaque components can be combined in a low cost (relative
to other options), lighter weight protection systems for transport
vehicles, Money In Transfer vehicles, boats, buildings, entry
points, lockable revolving doors, holding cells and other law
enforcement activities, ballistic shields, private home protection,
high risk retail stores, banks and other financial institutions
and for Portable Armour Systems.
"There are multiple reasons
for organizations and individuals to adopt these products -
State of the art technology, affordability, ease of use and increased
security concerns. However, the most important factor is simply
that the need for these products already exists but the products
themselves were not available till now" added Mr. Mazumdar.
Some of the key users for these
products include: the US Senate office building, US Supreme Court,
US Department of Defence, US Capital Police department, Boeing
Aeronautical Corporation, United Nations, World Bank and Lloyd's
of London.
